Internet of Things

Internet of Things
All of the non-traditionally objects that get hooked into the internet via technology such as wifi, bluetooth, RFID and even hardwired connections.
An example might be refrigerators that know what they contain and can communicate this to you or a system that can help you make grocery-related decisions (what to buy, what to cook, what contains stuff your guest is allergic to and so on). Home automation, logistics and warehouse automation are areas where the Internet of Things appears to be surfacing first.
In terms of locative media, The Internet of Things is the merging of physical objects and their location as sensors and controllers in the environment.

  1. I would be all over that and especially if it emailed direct to my meal board app and added the items to the grocery list there!
